Well, here I am, it's 11:15 on Thursday night and I've been on this darn couch for nearly 5 hours. I think I have a permanent impression of where I sit on my family room couch. In fact, I think the couch has become part of my body. Oh...I long for the day when I can shop, vacuum (yes I said vacuum!). I miss doing the vacuum dance every couple of days. It's pretty bad when you miss doing housework! I used to be one of those crazies that would take a brush and comb the fringe on my area rugs. Yes....I did say comb my rug! I don't miss that part of my life but I do miss, going to the mall, going out and dancing with my husband to the 70s and 80s music. Mostly I miss doing fun things with my kids and grandkids. My little 5 year old granddaughter asked me a couple of months ago, "Nana, why are you always on the couch?" I told her that the couch was really a magic couch and that when she wasn't around, it took me for rides all over the world. When she asked why she couldn't ride on the magic couch, I told her you had to be over 50 and her comment was "I'm going to be 50 in 3 years! :) She is only 5 and has no idea of how far from 50 she is. Anyway, that is the deal with my couch. When this transplant is over, I am going to take this couch to the good will and replace it with another one. After this is all over, I never want to see this darn couch again.
And on that note, I am going to COUCH this subject!

Comment by Bobbi on February 15, 2012 at 2:49pm I so understand this post. I also have a magic couch that takes me on fabulous journeys. My physical therapist asked me for some goals the other day and I said I want to vacuum and be able to do the dishes! he did not think those were goals, then again he is a healthy person and doesn't take rides on the magic couch. Never thought I would want to vacuum or do the dishes, but yes, those are my goals.
Hi Terri
You know that is a great idea about taking your couch to a good will store. Just think about how much love the couch will provide someone else. I wish you the best during your wait. Keep sharing, Rise'
