Transplant Friends

As many folks know from my blog on the sister site, I try very hard to keep myslef in good physical condition. I usually walk and run four to six times per week. I also lift weights at least four times per week. I also wear a meter than helps to figure out how many calories I burn during a day's time. It has a program which allows me to input my diet for the day and calculate how many calories I take in. I am trying to get my body fat down under 20%. The last time that I was checked, my body fat was 23.1%, which isn't too bad, but I would like to have it lower than that. Previously, I had gotten my weight down to 179 pounds, but I did not look good. I had lost some of my muscle tone and I was just too skinny. I am about 5 pounds heavier than that now, but unfortunately, when I put weight back on, I had lost muscle. It is a constant battle for me to be where I want to be, but I have to keep trying. My age plays into it somewhat, I am sure as I am 55 years old. Well, I guess that is all for now. I have to go get weighed and have my percenatges calculated on Tuesday. I will blog again then.

I want to know just how many of you folks exercise on a regular basis and use supplements. The only one I use is Dymatize ISO-100. Of course, I use my everyday vitamins and I have some bars that I am rather fond of-Quest bars in the Peanut Butter Supreme flavor, which provide carbs, and protein, but the carbs provided are in the form of fiber mostly to give you a long term source of energy. What do you use?

My other interests besides working out are cooking (believe it or don't), fishing, collecting coins, listening to music among other things. In the meantime, I am going to keep on trucking, whether it be lifting weights, getting on the treadmill or elliptical (even if it kills me) LOL!!

Cathy, we have all been overweight at some time or other. I might suggest that since you are riding a bike and that you sometimes find it boring that you might try something like getting yourself some kind of music with headphones, so that you can get into the music, and therefore the exercise. I have lost quite a bit of weight myself. Just remember to keep going and do not give up. today is my chest/tricep exercise day. I will do this for 45 minutes and then walk and run for about 30 minutes. I work for a short time this evening. Just a few hours. I just try to stay active, doing whatever little thing that I can. Good luck to you.

Well, today is an official day off, but if I don't burn enough off to satisfy myself, I may end up doing something anyway.

Hi Gregg

Welcome to Transplant Friends! I was quite surprised and glad that you joined us. Keeping fit is where it is at. I already walked my morning walk and now I am online. I will work on the weights later on today.

Keep moving,....
