I Have Decided

I have decided to stop reliving the past.  To stop drowning in an ocean of regret.  To stop tormenting myself over past mistakes.  To stop dreaming of what might have been.  To stop mourning lost chances.  To stop grieving for yesterday.  To say goodbye to all that has gone before, and to those loved ones who have come and departed from my life.

I have decided to start preparing the future.  To start resting in an ocean of surrender.  To start empowering myself for future achievements.  To start dreaming of what might yet be.  To start welcoming coming opportunities. To start living for tomorrow.  To say hello to all that is ahead, and to those loved ones who have yet come into my life.

The past may be a very long path, a very regrettable road.  But like every path, every road, it can be left behind, and a new direction may be followed, a new journey begun.  Yet, the first step must be the step that takes me away from the path I have traveled.  We cannot move into a new direction without first turning our backs on the old.

The future may be a very long path, but it is a road as yet unknown.  And nothing about that path demands that it be as the former was.  Let what has gone before be gone forever, but also let what is to yet to come, come as it will.

I have decided to stop looking back.  I have decided to let life lead me forward into tomorrow.
