Share - which illness lead up to you needing a transplant?

I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was three years old I am now soon to be 28 yr old. Once I hit puberty my body went to hell and I couldn't control my sugars no matter how hard I tried, my then endo referred me to the best man I know my transplant Doctor..Dr. J.Oberholzer at the University of Illinois and it has been three years now and I am insulin free and loving every moment of my second chance at life

Which Organ(s) did you receive? If you are on the waiting list, please share.

I received a pancreas after being on the list for one month thanks to the wonderful most giving family that allowed their loved one to share his gift of life with me.

Drugs, vitamins, favorite foods

I am currently on Myfortic 360 mg four times a day and prograph 3 mg twice a day

I am so grateful and I thank God and my donor's family everyday for giving me this second chance at life, I am now engaged to be married, I am currently in school to become a nurse to work for the transplant center that I had had my transplant at.
