On Aug 22nd I had a heart attack, i fought it for 16 hours thinking it was thye flu. no such luck, my daughter, Alex, #2 of 4 talked me into going to the hospital. It didnt take long and I had a stent put in. I had the widow maker my left ventracle was totally blocked. 3 weeks later they sent me to Chicago to Northwestern memorial. On Dec 10 they installed an LVAD. The Ventrasist , I was the first one to receive this new pump in the 5 state area. Doc. McGEE ask me if I wanted this 7lb. pump which they been using for ever or would like this 7oz one which they have yet to use on humans. I asked him how to you know that new one will work, he said we tested it on several cows and they were just fine. I took the 7oz.I was the main event at the hospital for a long time. anyway that lvad saved my life, I was out of the hospital and back to the hotel on dec. 31 2007. On valentines day Feb 14th I got the call for my heart.It was unbelievable, at first I thought my nurse was joking around. I was back to the hotel on Feb 22nd and made it back home for wife's bithday on March 8th
