Yeah, I know Joanne well from years of internet forums, but I haven't read her new Taking Flight yet. I was lucky and didn't have a gunk problem, just a breathing problem. I was on 10 liters at rest when I was listed for transplant, and it was something to go from 10 liters to zero. I was lucky there, too, as I got the double lung transplant without a long wait.

Wow! 6 years! I hope you're doing okay. I guess you're not a COPD patient, since double lungs are not a requirement, just a desire. All the more amazing that you've been waiting for so long. I had COPD, but was lucky enough to get a double when my FEV1 dropped to below 10%, and I needed 10 liters of O2 to get around.
Hope your wait is not too much longer. Speaking of people's stories, I'll bet yours is an interesting one. Here's hoping your call will come soon.
