Were you a member of our Forum on http://TransplantBuddies.com ?: I have been a member since my transplant on 4/25/2008. I am also a member of transplantcafe.com

Share how your transplant experience changed your life?: I survived pancreatic cancer and part of the cure was to remove my pancreas, spleen, gallbladder and half of my intestines. The surgery left me a very brittle diabetic without all three hormones that control blood sugar and all of my digestive enzymes. I was able to somehow keep myself alive by testing and adjusting my glucose levels hourly and taking over 1000 enzyme pills a month to be able to digest a portion of my food.

With my transplant I was given a second chance at life. I can live each day without fear of death.
