Ups and downs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whated to say thank you for the Birthday well wishes, my sister's who live in WVA and TX surprised me with a birthday party with some of my church friends, family friends and a co-worker and the Biggest Surpise was my sister from TX, I haven't seen her in a couple of years - it was amazing. My health on the other hand is getting worse, it doesn't take much for me to become winded (just standing for 3 - 4 min. can do it).  My doctor got all the lab work, letters of rec. and CD's sent off to Duke…See More

Finally some good news!

Up Date 3/9/12    Well Dr. Priebat called us tonight and he said "YOU HAVE NO CANCER ANY WHERE!!", he said he is willing to write a letter stating the fact that the chances of the cancer I had on my finger recurring are very very slim.  He is also willing to put his name and reputation on the line and state that I should be considered for a Lung Transplant!  PRAISE THE LORD AND PRAISE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS!!!!!  Thank you just doesn't even touch how much I love and am…See More

My name is Sharon and I am fighting Fibrosis of the Lungs. I had a Sarcoma form of Cancer 40 years ago in my pelvis and by time they figured out what it was it spread to my lungs, I am alive today thanks to our Lord and Many great People at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. I am now fighting for my life due to the damages caused by the Cancer, Chemo and Radiation, and I need your help. I was on the Transplant List a month ago, but Satin decided to test me and gave me another Sarcoma on the tip if my finger. All the doctors are amazed, they say that it is very rare for 1 person to get 2 different forms of Sarcoma in a life time; they say it “might” be genetic. The Head of the Transplant team also said that I have cancer in my body, it might just be a cell or two, but it is there and he is taking me off the List. Why you ask, well he says that if I have the transplant and they put me on the Immunosuppressant drugs this cancer cell that might be there will spread like fire. Well my Oncology doctor and the Pathologists say that the cancer I had in my finger are gone with my finger and they gave me good prognosis, they said no need for Chemo or Radiation. My Oncologist said that I would do fine on the Immunosuppressant drugs, but the transplant doctor says it is not true – he says he knows best and he know what will happen and he doesn’t care what other doctors have to say. He said that in 2 or more years he will reassess my case. So I am left with the scare that I may not have 2 or more years with my lungs, in fact a year ago this same transplant doctor told my husband and me that odds of me being around in 2 years are more likely with a transplant than without. I am going to go to other Transplant Hospitals and see if I can get help, but most importantly I am going to FIGHT and I am going to call out to Our Lord for help to guide me and keep me strong. I thank each and every one of you for reading this and praying on this.
God Bless <>br/> Sharon

hello sharon, iam waiting for a lung or lungs not sure yet, both my lungs are done due to 40 yrs worth of smoking, stage 4 copd with end emphysema, i dont no tho how my one lung will hold up if anything goes wrong with the new one as i hear alot of talk on rejection. iam meeting with the surgen early dec, have 2 more test to go b4 iam completly done. i just read ur story, I was told also any form of cancer ur off the list, i think b/c 1you wont do good. rejection alone can kill u. so why not get another opinion. im like you, both lungs are bad,im in good shape and im waiting. sometimes i do feel like iam waiting to long and iam not even there yet haha but i can see how iam goin down the tube and fast.and iam exerciseing too, my theroy is, stay positive, laugh as much as you can,and we have better chance at surviving,, best medicine in the world.:)) well, i wish you all the best. are u on f/b thereis a lady who runs a page there for transplants, joanne, shes been there done it all, and i highly respect her for her courage, her strength & for just being there for everyone, she seems to know so much about transplants and she fibrosis too,she also wrote a few books and shes reli a wonderful lady. mayb it would be good if u talk to her, inless ur already there lmao let me and if u want ill tell u how to get in there,ok.. hang in there, better days are coming.:))

Sharon, have you checked Duke University Hospital out for possible transplant. They gave me my lungs and seem to be more risk taker than other hospitals. Hope and pray that that works for you.
