I was born with Cystic Fibrosis and at the age of 36 I received my first double lung transplant. I had a very successful transplant at Loyola Medical Center in Illinois. After eight years I needed another double lung transplant. Two years later I received my second double lung transplant at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida. Throughout my transplant life, I have been promoting organ donation through talking to groups and through my online websites Transplantbuddies and Transplant Friends. ~Thank you for joining us~Rise'

Thank you, sometimes everythiing seems so overwhelming. It happened so fast. My illness ans transplant, i just really rolled with it (so to speak). I was put on the list and less then a week recieved a new liver. Im looking forward to speaking with other people that know about this journey. I always wonder if theres anyone in my area. My life and many life choices have changed. I never want to go through that slow painful journey again. I do my best to stay healthy and humble.

Thank you I look forword to being on TransplantFriends. It will be nice to talk to people that have experienced the same thing. We all know how hard it can be the up and downs. That anything can happen and change at any time. I know in  my own life sense my first transplant I have had a lot of things happen. For about 10 years every I end up in the hospital with something. My first transplant   there were some problems and I was in the hospital for almost 2 months. In January of 1990 was back in the hospital right after New Years. I had the shingles and they are very painful and the pain last a long time. I had them again in 2000. In 1991 I had found out my left hip had deteriorated .I had surgery on the right hip to keep it from going . !993 had surgery on left hip surgery .Then in 1997 finely had my left hip replaced. Then in 1998 I found out I would have to have another transplant. I have arthritis in both hands an did in both shoulder .Until I had my left shoulder replaced. I have to have the right shoulder  done as well. Maybe at the end of the year These are just some of the thing i have gone throw.be on this I think will be good for me .Thank you Rise.    Julie
