Share how your transplant experience changed your life?
I was born with Cystic Fibrosis and at the age of 36 I received my first double lung transplant. I had a very successful transplant at Loyola Medical Center in Illinois. After eight years I needed another double lung transplant. Two years later I received my second double lung transplant at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida. Throughout my transplant life, I have been promoting organ donation through talking to groups and through my online websites Transplantbuddies and Transplant Friends. ~Thank you for joining us~Rise'

Still exploring this site. I did download a few pictures. I will try to be more involved in trying to talk to others who are waiting or have had a small bowel liver or kidney transplant. This is a really good site, full of information and people who want and need it to make decisions or ask the doctors questions. We were overwhelmed with my son's situation in 1992 as to what to do next or where even to go. We pushed the doctors to find the next doctors to help him. There were 5 small bowel transplants done in 1991, 3 adults and two children. He was flown to Pittsburgh, Pa. and was evaluated. The rest is history. They do his type of transplants so much different now. We spent 6 months in Pittsburgh before he was released to come home. Hopefully I can get him on here to talk to others as well. Thanks!
