Thanks for the message, Tom.  It is good that you are feeling well and able to pursue activities that you enjoy.  It has been 7 months since my liver transplant and I have no complaints so far.  Diabetes was with me for 4 months, compliments of the post tx prednisone but it went away when the med was stopped.  Currently I take 3.5mg prograf and 1mg cellcept daily.

I wasn't familiar with Wickett, Texas until you mentioned it but it was in fact named after your uncle, Fred H. Wickett.  It is across the state from me in a region called the Permian Basin which is famous not only for its oil reserves, but also for the era of HS football championships during the 90s that inspired the movie "Friday Night Lights".  I went to school in Abilene during the 70s just down the highway from the Permian area and it was well known then that "it's best not to mess with those boys coming from Permian/ Midland/Odessa".  lol

How are things in B.C.?  Have you always lived there?

Thank you for the well wishes Tom.  I apologize for this late reply but my husband was back at the hospital for a short period.  He had a small infection on his incision; it is healing up quite nicely though and it was nice to see everyone on the Transplant Floor again.  You sound like you have recovered well in the past two years.  It is great to enjoy life as you said. And I am certainly one that does not take it for granted now.  We also enjoy walking our dogs and just simply spending time with each other and our kids.  I have traveled to British Columbia when I was younger, such beautiful country up there.  I am looking forward to traveling again soon with my family.  There is so much to look forward to now.  Good luck to you and your family.

Tom, I would like to talk to you sometime. We are staying close to the hospital and I'm still #1 on the list. We've been here over a week. Let me know a god time I could call you. Thanks, Rob

    Hey Tom ..

Bill has been hopitalized mostly because of infection and pressure wounds.   Hopefully this week he will return to rehab so he can build mussel strength.

His liver disease was diagnosed 2 month prior to transplant.  He didnt have much time to get ready for the surgery and recovery.

        How are you doing?

So how are you doing?  Any new info about your kidneys?

At 12:34pm on January 10, 2012, Kristina said…

I'm sorry to hear that your kidney readings aren't where they should be. Did your team tell you if they have any plans for it?

At 10:39pm on January 8, 2012, Kristina said…

I'm actually on 3 mg of TAC twice a day and 1000 mg of MMF twice a day. They told me it's mainly because my immune system wants to fight so much. Sadly though, because of the high doses and some of the other meds I've had to take, I'm losing my hair. It does give me a  chance to see what different hairstyles and colors would look like on me though.
