Hi Sarah,With absolutely no advanced warning or symptoms, I was diagnosed with IPF in 2007.9 In three months, I went from leading a perfectly normali life to being on oxygen 24/7. Nine months later I received a right lung transplant at the University of Washington Medical Center. I support your efforts to put pulmonary fibrosis in the public eye. "I have my bloodwork evaluated every six weeks, for the basic CBC and liver function stuff, and tacrolimus levels. Then, before my annual testing, pulmonary function & chest X-ray, I have a complete "kitchen sink" type of blood test."

"I'm a single lung transplant who is 5-1/2 years out, and I take low dose Bactrim daily. I expect to continue doing so indefinitely. I assume it prevents some bacterial infections?"
