I had a kidney transplant on July 26, 2010. Am feeling a bit daunted by the post op complications although, fortunately the kidney has performed beautifully from the beginning. I am curious what other people's experiences have been. First, I developed an an ileus-- which is when bowel motility does not resume after surgery. Anesthesia causes hyperstalysis of the GI tract to cease. If motility does not resume, it causes air to build up in the ileus as you continue to swallow air and air is a…See More
