Share - which illness lead up to you needing a transplant?: I was diagnosed with an unknown viral hepatitis that caused my liver to fail and had to have a transplant on 12/24/1996.

Which Organ(s) did you receive? If you are on the waiting list, please share.: I received a partial liver transplant 12/24/1996.

Drugs, vitamins, favorite foods: Prograf and Cellcept

How many years have you had your Transplant for?: 16

Which Transplant Center has or will perform your life saving surgery?: Children's Medical Center of Dallas

Share how your transplant experience changed your life?: I have only known a life with my transplant. I was a small child when I received my liver and I grew up as a transplantee. I have never been "normal" and have had to deal with certain problems only transplant patients could understand through every stage of life.

Yes.....you read right....I HAD A HEALTHY BABY BOY POST FULL LIVER TRANSPLANT!!! GOD HAS BEEN GRACIOUS!!! I am currently on 3mg of prograf and 5mg of prednisolone. My wonderful transplant doctor was Dr. Marlon Levy. I don't know who your doctors are, but I loved and wished that I was still in the Dallas area so that I could still see my doctors at Baylor All Saints. I am open to sharing more of my story, but I will share this also, I was told by my doctors that out of all organs, LIVERS seem to do the best during pregnancy. And I had absolutely, NO complications during or after. As I always say, every bodies case is different, but I am a firm believer that God is FAITHFUL and can provide!! God Bless!!
