"I'm taking 2.5mg a day of prednisone. I use 5mg tablets and break them in half. They are scored, and easy to break. No need for a pill splitter."

"Interesting. Is it true that grape juice is good for gout? I would have thought the contrary. It is my understanding that the fructose in grape juice is metabolized in the liver, and a product is uric acid. "

"I was told no alcohol for the first 3 months, and then to keep it very limited. I gave up my old drink at the end of the day, but I do have an occasional glass of wine with dinner, at home, or when dining out."

I believe we met in March of 2010 after our transplant on the 8th floor of the Miller Bldg where I volunteer with MendedHearts vitually every Wednesday. You are transplant number 1463 or 1464, I think. And you are from the Cincy area?

Sounds like you are doing pretty well and that's the key!! If you ever are there on a Wednesday, or need anything, simply yell at me and I'll do what I can.

I haven't had any problems with CMV so far. How often do you go back for a biopsy? I'm alternating every 3 months between AlloMap and biopsy.
