Oh yeah, how does your incision scar look? Is it all closed up and healed. I posted a picture of mine on my page. Check it out if you want. Anyways, I hope to hear from you soon, honey. Tawnya
Hi Jenn,
I did have a lot of abdominal pain for the first 10 days but after that, it was gone. It felt like gas pain to me. What does your pain feel like? My incision took 2 months to become completly closed and for all the glue to fall off. I was back to the gym on the 2 month mark. My stomach was sore for 6 months. I remember accidentally running into the corner of a table and it hit my stomach and I crouched down in pain. I was back to hard-core ab exercises and running full-force at 7 months. My incision did feel tight for 9 months but then one day I was streching at the gym and I went backwards on a medicine ball and I was like,"OMG, that didn't hurt." After that I was fine. I have not felt pain since. I have noticed if I drink more than 5 drinks of alcohol I will get a pain right in my liver so I limit myself to no more than 4. My stomach will sometimes growl on my right side where my liver is, which I think is odd. I can't drink soda and eat nuts together anymore. That used to be my favorite snack. My stomach makes a lot of volcano noises when I eat those foods. The Dr.'s said it's because I no longer have a gall bladder and food goes right to my stomach now. Other than that I feel 100%. I do everything as I did before. My incision is keyloided so I can always feel it. For example, I went boogie-boarding at the beach, and I could totally feel my scar touch the board when I layed on it. I never felt the loss of energy or the exaustion, or the tiredness the Dr.'s told me I would feel. I talked to a lot of other liver donor's and they felt the same way you are feeling. It might just take longer for you to get back to normal. I can't think of anything else. Let me know if I missed something. I hope you get your energy back and feel more like yourself soon. I'm here if you need to talk. Tawnya
Hi Jenn!! How are you feeling? It's good to see another live liver donor on here. Thanks for reaching out. I'm 2 and a half years out from my liver resection so if you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to ask. I hope you are doing well. I remember I was feeling 100% myself at the 2 month mark. My incision took the entire 2 months to heal completely. I was glued back together so for all the glue to fall off and my incision becoming hot all the time---2 months was the magic number for me. As of today, my father and I are doing fabulous. In fact, I'm off to the pool right now, and yes, you bet, I'm proud of my scar. I wear my rhinestone two piece bikini all summer long. I have it on as we speak! Take care of yourself and I hope to hear from you soon. Tawnya
