Thanks for your comment Lilian. I hope you are doing well. Dr. Carmona was one of the surgeons I visited with at ABC Hospital in Mexico City last February. My visit with him was very informative. He is a great surgeon.
Since that visit I have been honored to work with 6 Mexican citizens living in the US. Three of those people are getting kidney transplants within the next 6 weeks being given the gift of life by 3 altruistic, non-related, living donors. I was in Mexico last…

I am simply awestruck at the altruistic, loving nature common in all donors both living and deceased. Without these incredible souls, the marvels of medical science would be lacking a crucial link.
I have known Dr. Ed Cole for years but have not been directly under his care. He is a transplant director held in high esteem by both colleagues and patients. My doctor, Dr. J. Kim, is a brilliant, congenial man who strongly advocates patient participation. This suits me perfectly since I come from the school of self care dialysis. At self care, I mastered self cannulation; a major source of anxiety for most patients. But for the grace of my donor, those days are, mercifully, a fading memory. But, I continue to incorporate the skills I learned with my brand new, wonderful life. I am not the 'average' patient and have been known to be demanding. I make it my business to know what is going on and my questions, at times, might seem never ending. I can, definitely, be a handful but my team appreciates this attribute; we are cohesive and efficient.
I wish you continued good health and success in all your endeavors. May you and yours have a great holiday season!

My transplant clinic is @ Toronto General so I am very familiar with the downtown core. Must say, I LOVE my team! Could not ask for better people... This is my second kidney transplant and it is going fantastic. So blessed and so appreciative. May I ask, Dr. Bob, what type of medicine do you practice? It must be quite the experience being on the patient end of the equation. What a role reversal. Take care and remain a source of light.
Happy Birthday, Dr. Bob!!!
