Not enjoying this new big round face. Does it get better as prednisone tapers down?

Julia said… Hi Debbie, My hair seems to go through stages of really falling out the slowing down and growing again but its never got back to what it was . Thank goodness I started off with quite a bit lol. I had my Kidney tx March 31st 2006 and I cant believe its nearly six years and I feel AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much energy and zest for life I am sooooooo soooooooo lucky. I had FULL moon face for a while lol but it soon settled as the Steroids tapered down but My appetite remains...All I do is think about food .

Ken Carrell said… Hello DebbieK:
I am a right lung tx who will be 4 years old in April. When you describe the problems you are experiencing it brings back to mind when I suffered the very same. It gets better year by year. But realize that there will always be some new issue to deal with... you lear to manage it and get by it. In between are all the things you enjoy about life. It must be difficult for you right now but the important thing is to keep moving. It can be as simple as walking around the neighborhood or walking up and down stairs. Just keep the blood moving. Thats what I did. It was very lonely 2 months after my tx when everyone went back to work and felt that I could manage on my own. It wasn't easy at all.

Hi Debbie
How are you?
Crystal said… Hello,
You look really great in your photo. How are you feeling? I have been doing ok. I have good days and bad days. I still keep pushing forward. I am wondering what is up with Cleveland Clinic. I remember in 2009 when they was, what I call bragging, about all those transplants they did. My one friend April has been on their list for 3 yrs. I don't know :( I am so happy for you Debbie.
Take Care, Love, Crystal
John said… Just walk on my driveway, laps for 20 to 30 minutes or till I work up a sweat. Here lately it's been high 70's and humid, even at 4 to 5 am. We have a recumbent bike exercise machine that my wife uses, but it feels worse on my knees. When I'm able to drive I'll try the gym in Mont Belvieu, see if there are any machines I can use. Also going to have to get used to the spf lotion on me for extended time in the sun when it cools off.
