Share - which illness lead up to you needing a transplant?

I have Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. I was diagnosed in 2008 and received a liver transplant 9/20/2010. I also have had Crohn's Disease since 1992.

Which Organ(s) did you receive? If you are on the waiting list, please share.

I received a deceased donor liver transplant.

Drugs, vitamins, favorite foods

I currently take Prograf, 2mg and 2mg, Cellcept 750mg 2x per day, I discontinued my Prednisone 2 months ago (Yeah!!!). I also take protonix, magnesium and sometimes provigil because I still experience extreme fatigue.

How many years have you had your Transplant for?

Which Transplant Center has or will perform your life saving surgery?

I received my liver transplant at Cleveland Clinc in Cleveland, Ohio.

Share how your transplant experience changed your life?

I believe that God performed a physical miracle in my life. Many others were on the waiting list for several years. I received my liver within 1 year of listing. I was blessed by God to recover from many infections and multiple procedures/hospital stays. I felt comforted the entire time knowing that He has plans for my life. I want to impact others by sharing about the reality of God's existence, His power to save to our souls by His grace, and His ability to "do exceedingly and abundantly all that we ask or seek... "

Share your interests and hobbies

I enjoy working out, shopping, reading and promoting education and life long learning. I also enjoy providing hope to individuals currently hospitalized or suffering with chronic health conditions, especially auto-immune diseases.
