I have a trach scar and the scars from a double lung tx.   It is like they have become a part of me and I never notice them. They have been fully embraced!

Dear Bobbiejo,

I jokingly call my scar battle wounds and i won the war.  you seem so positive about your scars.  Thats the only way i try to see it, you cant o around life being bitter about it all.  My mother suggested i get plastic surgery (cause she thought i was insecure about the scars); but i said no that way when ppl ask about them i can share my testimony about hoe goo God has been to me.

Dear Mari,

I think you have a great attitude about your scars. Like you I have a mutiple scars scattered here and there from various procedures along with the major scar for my transplant. My mother has told me it looks like a battlefield on my abdomen. I plan to keep on fighting. May you also find the strength and hope you need in this ongoing journey of life. My scars are almost like a memoir of my life, revealing much of my history in their language of lines and color. In coming to accept myself, which has been hard for me, so that I can better help and understand others, I have to learn to accept myself wholely, my weaknesses, faults, scars and all else.  May you be further blessed with an abundance of life. Many hugs.

I had a Heart and double lung transplant in july of 2012. I have a zipper on my chest, i had three tubes in my abdomen during surgery(one right above navel), then i had three chest tubes after surgery(2on right side, one on left), i also have 2scars on my thighs by my groin cause i had a femoral catheter during surgery. oh yeah and my tracheostomy left a nasty scar also, but i still wear them all proudly and im not ashamed of them. #teamtransplant
