Permalink Reply by Tisha on November 1, 2011 at 9:57pm I read some where on this site that dying my hair was a no no.. I am post transplant 18 months and have dyed my hair at least three times already... Bad Idea??? Now I'm worried.. I never told my doctor thinking it wasn't a big deal
Permalink Reply by Holly on July 13, 2012 at 9:56pm My heart transplant Drs. told me it was ok after about 4 mos. I use otc Clairol...too cheap to pay the stylist! I have not had any problems. After my transplant my hair turned gray and very curly. I loved the curly as I had never even had waves. After I got off the prednisone, it got straight as a stick again...darn. But glad to be off the prednisone!
Permalink Reply by Christine Hilton on July 31, 2012 at 11:00pm Oops I've dyed twice since October. I better tell my coordinator.
Permalink Reply by Rachel on August 1, 2012 at 8:02pm I finally got the ok from my doc. to dye my hair. Hoorah Hoorah. I will probably dye it this weekend. Can't wait, I'm 15 months out.
Permalink Reply by DebbieK on October 11, 2012 at 11:23pm Some peoples hair gets too weak and breaks off or falls out. You have not had that problem so shoulf be ok.
Permalink Reply by DebbieK on November 19, 2012 at 4:07pm If you have died it three times already with no problems you should be okay. It is really in the first 6 to 12 months you have to worry about

I have no idea if this is bad. I use a natural dye. With the knowledge out there that is currently present regarding chemical exposure, I choose natural and I certainly hope that the natural products that I buy are what they say. The website ewg.org is a great place to start to learn about chemicals in products.
