You might want to join the group and post your question there. It might take a while to hear from someone then again maybe not.

Curious if there are others in the group who received pediatric transplants, or who care for kids who did? My 4-year-old got her new kidney (from her Dad) a month ago and is doing great. Just dealing with lots of nasty tasting liquid meds :-)

Ok this is gonna seem weird and i'm prolly gonna regret putting this out there..may even speak volumes about my psyche, I dunno. But... Ok...I have Been on Dialysis A LONG TIME and during that time i was pretty much asexual. But after the TP I was thinking of a girl i used to date and all of a sudden i was on the verge of creaming myself without even a touch or feel. I tried to run to the bathroom before it actually happened because my sister  just happened to be in the room watching a movie with me at the time...but half way there i filled my boxers. Sigh* Is that normal?. How? I mean it was like a wet dream but awake. I can't be the only one right? I mean all those years of celibacy must have just came rushing out all at once since my health improved..right? ANy input or insight on this? I wasn't about to talk 2 her about it..thats 4 sure!

Thank you Kt. I am so grateful for my kidney, which came to me from a living donor whom I did not know prior to her contacting me. I have PKD and my dad also had a tx in 1991. He 's gone now but had 9 amazing years with his kidney. At almost 58, I am ready for the next chapter in my life and will be forever thankful that someone was willing to give her kidney to a stranger. Just happy to feel "normal" again.

Wow Kim .. 1.1 / .2 is awesome.  Mines 1.59 as of thur and im greatful but want <1.1 like my first TP. Then again i'm still on 8mg prograf bid. Ugh!   .. patience was never a strong suit 4 me. If i can get to  5 mg like u that would b great..p-rograf that is not prednisone. i still take 20 mg of that and want off totally eventually. I think i can deal with 5 of pred if i really had too though..maybe take 2.5 every 12 hrs if i really need 2. BTW That was ALOT of fluid u were drinking..i  drink alot with 1 gal + or - a day too. So happy u r doing well..i love success stories. God BLess and may your new Kidney last a lifetime  : )

Took me two weeks to get rid of the 20# pounds of fluid I came home with after 4 days in the hospital, plus the 3 - 4 liters I drank daily. Still trying to 3lt a day. Creatinine at about 1.1 - 1.2

Good for you for getting out so quickly. My docs didn't want me out and about for the first three months - no flu shot before tx(11/8/12) so I guess that was part of it.
I'm feeling great - no real issues with meds. Down to 5mg prednisone and 5mg prograf daily.

Thanks 4 the advice Kim.. just upper body right now..light weight more reps.  No legs or abs right now because of the incision and the artery being connected to the one in my leg..maybe at 6 mo's though..well see.

Going in for knee replacement April 9. I had my first transplant back in 1975. All those years on prednisone has played havoc with my bones. I'll still need to get the other knee and an ankle worked on.
