Hi everyone, its great to see so many people doing so well|! My name is Caroline and I had my kidney and pancreas transplant at the John Radcliffe in Oxford in the UK in March 2007. I have been really well (although had to have a native kidney removed last Feb due to infection). I am currently trying to get pregnant and would love to hear people's experiences. Hope you are all wellxx

Today is my 11th anniversary of my kidney & pancreas transplant. Congratulations to you Marcia for the length of time that you have had your transplant for - that's amazing!

My name is Marcia. I am the old timer in this group, I see. I had my kidney/pancreas transplant at the University of Miami in 1994 and am going strong with these same organs. I was the 17th kp tx performed there at that time. I had diabetes for 32 years and was on dialysis two years at the time of the transplant. I work full time and am enjoying an active, full life!

Hi, I'm Chris and I had a kidney and pancreas transplant. I had my transplant on December 3, 2000. I was type 1 diabetic at age 7 and had rennal failure at age 28. I was acidentally taken off the transplant list by mistake because another person with my name had a transplant. However that may have worked in my favor because my transplant is still going.

Hi Katie - No, I don't think so. My BP went up quite a lot in the last few weeks and he was delivered by C section at 34.5 weeks weighing 5lbs 4oz but didn't go to special care and he's a strong, healthy, bouncing 8 month old now :)

Hi Claire,
I had my K/Ptx at The John Radcliff Hospital in Oxford. Did the anti-rejection meds affect your little Boy?

Hi Katie - wow another Kideny/pancreas UK transplantee! We are a rare breed it seems. I know of 2 other women who have had a baby after a K/P transplant, both successfully. My organs are placed sort of in front of my hip bones on either side so their position wasn't a problem when I was pregnant. The consultant did say however that it may get a bit crowded in there and in fact I had Luke at 34.5 weeks and he weighed only 5lbs 4oz but you should see him now! Where did you have your txplant? I had mine done at The Royal Liverpool.

Hi everyone, I had my Pancreas transplant almost 2 years ago after having my native Pancreas removed due to cancer 2 years prior to that. I am doing well except for reoccurring bouts with CMV. I appreciate my gift every day and someday hope to hear back from my donor family.

I am on 12mg of Prograf and 1000mg of Cellcept.
