adding magnesium to list of meds

Started by Mariann. Last reply by Frank Millard Nov 21, 2012. 5 Replies

I am 13 years post liver/bone marrow transplant at Jackson. Lately, I have been hearing that if you are on calcium that you need to take magnesium along with the calcium. I have been on calcium for the past 10 years but still have some bone deteriation. Does anyone take magnesium and how has it affected you?

Hello Bobbiejo

I to had the great Dr. Tzakis too he is not gone but starting a new Transplant center in West Palm Beach it was in the news paper here and T.V. I live about a hour from Jackson Hospital, and you would think I would go back to see the Drs. and nurses but I have not. I must have been blessed that I was on the list for only 13 days but then Drs. gave me only about 3 to 4 months. my Transplant was in October 13 2010. I thank God I have been this healthy.   Happy Thanksgiving.

I had my liver/bone marrow transplant at Jackson in 1997 by Dr. Tazakas.  15 years later I'm still doing great. I appreciate the doctors and nurses and the care that I received at Jackson.

It's been 16 months for me and I can say that Jackson did a great job on me . At the begening it was rough I say 3 months with small complations, but all I have to say is that most of my joints and back is always in pain. Don't know if it is the Meds or what but all my blood works is great. Great job Jackson
