I will be getting a guide dog in July if I accept the offer from my second choice of facilities. I am waiting to hear from my prefered choice in a couple weeks or sooner. If they can't get me in sooner, then I will be flying to New York for a month to be trained to use my new dog.

Current pup, a chocolate lab is more of a stress than a stress reliever.  wish he would not jump up on anyone he see's including me and then there's the barking he picked up from the neighbor dogs. Tried the cintranella spray, no effect and now the ultrasound which doesn;t seem to effective outdoors. Atleast the cats are keeping me company while I'm sick, or they are waiting till I die to eat me!

I love my dogs, they keep me busy.  There's days I don't feel like getting out of bed and one of my dog will bark n bark at me to come and keep her company in the living room where I have her pillow.

As everyone, here, can attest, the critters we share our lives with give true meaning to friendship. Our golden retriever, Hunter, is a furry comedian who, quite simply, loves life.. His enthusiasm is contagious. He is a natural anti-depressant that happens to chase squirrels... Love him to bits!

Larry Bird at Christmas, I think we did the right thing - as here is his Holiday Photo.

Carolyn, sorry you had to give up Larry Bird. That's sad. My wife had a cockatiel that she raised from a chick. He died before I had my transplant so we were never faced with having to send him away. It's probably a good thing; she (Wife) would have chosen the bird over me! We also had a little Inca Dove for many yeras. 'Libby' fell out of the nest where my wife works. She brought Libby home & we were blessed with her for about 7 years; a long time for an Inca Dove to live. She was a sweet little bird.
