Amongst my favorite types of music is the blues. Some of my favorite artists are Howlin' Wolf, Long John Baldry, Jimi Henrix (that is what most of his music truly is), Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, B B King, Earl Hooker, John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon, plus a bunch of newer artists playing the blues.

Great guitar player, certainly. What a bummer!
Permalink Reply by Cisco on May 23, 2012 at 9:21pm Jack, are you familiar with an artist named Joe Bonamassa? I saw him a couple of weeks ago at the local university. I must say that I have been a fan for probably close to twenty years. He was billed as a jazz musician, but I think he is more blues than jazz. In any case, I was going to say that tickets were over $50 each. The first time I saw him, it cost me less than a dollar (the locla radio station was having a promotion). Great music!
Permalink Reply by Walt on May 23, 2012 at 9:51pm Cisco, I concur with your opinion on Joe Bonamassa. I've only just recently become familiar with him and I think that he has the skills to be around for quite a while. He certainly is not very well known in wider circles. Have you ever checked out "Spotify.com"? It's a great way to listen to streaming music on the net. You can listen to all of an individual artist's albums or a particular genre. Give it a try and let me know what you think. I've got a few play lists that you can listen to.
Permalink Reply by Cisco on May 24, 2012 at 8:06am LOL!! Walter, the funny thing about it is that he has been playing guitar for over 30 years, at least 20 and maybe more professionally that I know of. He has 13 compact discs out. He said he was proud that he did not have a number one hit on any of them. He did a solo after or during almost every song I saw him play. The night I saw him (May 8th) was his birthday. I will check out the website. Thanks.
Cisco, I'm not Jack and I don't know anyone by that name, but yeah, I know Joe Bonamassa. Funny you should mention him. Just saw one of his DVD's on PBS. I've got the concert stored on my DVR. In April, they showed his concert from the Beacon in NY. Not bad.

And, Walt. I concur with your opinion. On Spotify, that is ;) Great service on the computer, but on internet TV's, only the paid for version works. :(
(I have a WD TV Live Media player, which has all the main ones, Spotify, Pandora, Netflix,TuneIn, FB, YouTube Hulu (again, only Plus), etc.)

Permalink Reply by Cisco on May 24, 2012 at 3:40pm Sorry, Jay. My bad. He really put on a great show. More recently, like Tuesday, I went to the weirdest combination of a concert when I saw Kool & The Gang and Van Halen in Kansas City. They were both good, but it kind of reminded me of some of the odd combinations that they used to have at Fillmore East & West.
