I have been going to a free mobil dental unit for over 3 yrs. but lately I have had several teeth chip bad, ask my pcp about it and way told to talk to my pharm place and they tell me my med is not the cause. because of my age and $ problem I may have to have 4 more pulled. Rachel I think u can call them to find out what has to be done first.

Comment by Rachel on January 4, 2013 at 10:41pm Went to the dentist today to get a filling and I noticed two more black spots inside my mouth. The dentist looked at them and told me it was the same pigmentation I already had. He doesn't know which med is causing it. I wil have to ask the tx docs when I go in a couple of weeks.

Comment by Rachel on August 23, 2012 at 6:55pm I'm getting a new gold crown in a couple of weeks (my second one). I wonder if these can be removed and sold at one of those "We Buy Gold" places? :)
Comment by Rachel on June 28, 2012 at 12:35pm I have black spots on my tongue, inside of cheek and on my lip. Have had them for over a year pre tx. They think one of the meds cause it, prob. the pred not sure. Now my teeth are cracking, need a crown to try and save my molar.
Comment by Hostess Risé on April 19, 2012 at 7:31pm I would imagine that having a weakened immune system would create probelms in the mouth if you are taking good care of your teeth.
Comment by DebbieK on March 7, 2012 at 3:32am I don't know the solution to the problem Walter but I had an abscess Christmas day and went back to have it filled last week and now have another abscess and am on antibiotics again. This is a real problem as one is under an upper bridge and the other is under a lower bridge. I have three bridges as I did not get some of my second teeth or any of my wisdom teeth. I also grind my teeth a lot and have many crowns Have had some very poor dental work done. I have to go to a prosthedontist now as my bite is so off I need total mouth reconstruction.
Comment by Walt on March 6, 2012 at 11:02pm Has anyone noticed an increase in the number of cavities since their transplant? I seem to be getting more and I can't determine if it is due to my approach to dental hygiene or if it is due to dry mouth caused by some of the meds, or if it is due to a combination of circumstances. They have suggested that I adjust my brushing a bit and that I use 2 types of rinses (both Listerine). I'll give it a shot, but I was hoping to hear from someone who has already beaten this problem.
