Transplant Friends

What do you fear when it comes to your health?

I know having some aspects of Fear are normal and sometimes fear can drive us to do great things in life but sometimes fear can be overwhelming and help to weaken your health if you take fear to the extreme. Here is a place to share your fears.  Hopefully, sharing your fearful thoughts will make them appear less fearful.

I will share one of my fears.

I fear being viewed as non compliant if I disagree with something my transplant team suggests for my healthcare.

I think we all walk around with some fears in our head. If you are waiting for a transplant or have one the fear is that when you are sick that maybe you wont get better this time.

I think another fear is not being taken seriously by your doctor.

The fear that the other shoe is going to drop when things are going along smoothly.

The fear of not being seen as a "whole" person or "healthy" by others who hear you have a transplant.

The fear of sharing too much or to little with others about your health and how the receiver will perceive you.

The fear of not being in charge of of your own body and it was the one thing you thought you had control over.

I think that many of these fears are rolling around in our heads sometimes.

Awesome share Rita

You and I think so much alike.

Yo Rita, Had my liver full transplant 2 years ago, and have physically recovered very well almost perfectly, my gratitude is so enormous I can't put it into words. I have slight trauma now ie anxiosness after realising how ill I was. You face your own mortality, and God it frightened me to death took some time to getover it depression etc and on the otherhand thinking I'm the luckiest man in the world.

My prayers are with the donars' who give us the miracle of life.

My head is getting better everyday, and I can now do all the things I ever wanted to.

You have 16 years after your tranplant well done you're an inspiration to all of us.

Sincerely Peter.

Even the word "Non-Compliant" scares me.

i'm too fearful to write my true feelings of fear with dealing with my transplant! lol :)

Thank you all for sharing your heart with me. Not too many people can publically share.

PS: If you want to share your story Privately, I am all ears. You can trust that I will not share

any information with no one.  I have been on the web for 12 years for a reason.

Greengirl, I totally understand sometimes having fears and keeping them inside your head is easier to deal with than to say it out loud or in writing. Because once you say it it is truly out there.
